Aspens reach a deep reddish orange in the late fall in the Boulder Mountains of Idaho. These brilliant colors seem to occur about once every 5 to 10 years. The challenge is capturing the colors at their peak before the leaves drop and or turn brown. Photographed on five straight days for 45 minutes at sunset, this is the winning image out of 774 captured.
